Cool Choice Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Rebate Expires 12/31/2009 Don't miss this opportunity to save money.The Cool Choice Program offers rebates to commercial, industrial or agricultural customers of the United Illuminating Company and CL & P that install high-efficiency air conditioning and air to air heat pump systems. The amount of the rebate varies depending on the specific type of technology and the efficiency, but ranges from $70 to $200 per ton. Pre-approval from participating electric utility or sponsor required if the rebate total is greater than $5,000. Applications are available on the website listed above and can be submitted after equipment is installed. LEED Accreditation Changes

There have been some changes in the LEED accreeditation process. They have added 3 tiers. The first being LEED Green Associate. LEED Green Associate is an individual that has successfully passed the exam to achieve LEED Green Associate status. This accreditation is for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice, GBCI has created the LEED Green Associate credential, which denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations. You must have had documented involvement on a LEED-registered projectOR employment (or previous employment) in a sustainable field of work OR engagement in (or completion of) an education program that addresses green building principles.
