Connecticut Green Business Council


The CTGBC is now accepting applicants for the Green Design Award and the Green Advocate Award. Applicants are being accepted until April 23rd. Nominate yourself or a building or friend that you know that has stood out in Connecticut to help bring Green building to CT.
The Design award is based on:
•Description and solution of goals and objectives of the project
•Quality of design solution
•Energy usage
•Water Conservation
•Choice and appropriateness of building materials
•Site design
•Indoor Air Quality

The Green Advocate Award is looking to celebrate and recognize the individuals, groups and organizations actively transforming the built environment while sharing their knowledge of green building and sustainable practices. The Nominees can be innovators, entrepreneurs, educators and
NOM designers – in government, commerce, construction and non‐profits. They are advocates for high‐performance homes ,buildings and schools as well as for communities focused on water and energy conservation. They are advocates for discovering that green is good for business while raising the bar for social equity in future FOR developments. All those nominated and honored for the Green Advocate Award should share a passion for excellence and an enduring commitment to seeing our state as a model for the rest of the nation.

Although not necessarily part of our field. I found this program for teens worthy of sharing, Eco Company TV. The program is a national tv and website run, organized, and hosted by teens around the country about green technology, sustainability, and eco-wise information. It is a great opportunity for teens to get involved in green technology and get a chance to be on television. We have all kids in our lives children, nieces or nephews, friends children, grandchildren, that may have some interest in this.
